5 top tips for exhibiting at outdoor events and markets this winter

Christmas markets and festivals are an amazing way to get your name out there and make those all-important sales.

So if you run a small business that’s going be exhibiting at an event this winter – whether that’s selling festive food and drink, Christmassy crafts, or something else altogether – getting your outdoor shelters and accessories right will help you both boost your brand and get those customers buying.

On the other hand, you could be one organising and running the event – which means you have even more to think about, especially in the current climate.

Our winter event checklist has you covered. Whether you’re organising or exhibiting at a small community market or a huge winter wonderland affair, taking charge of these five important elements will help make sure it’s a success:

  1. Use bespoke lighting

You might be an old pro at summer festivals and pop-up events, but working the events scene in winter is a completely different game…

The days are short – but there’s a good chance you’ll be working at night anyway – which means you must make sure you have adequate lighting.

Our 3-Way LED Mains Lighting has been designed to attach to the centre pole of any of our parasols and instant shelters, making it ideal for when you’re exhibiting on dark winter nights.

You could also use our Rechargeable LED Strip Lighting & USB Charger Set. It requires no mains power, which is handy when you’re exhibiting in open spaces, and once fully charged it lasts up to eight hours on full power, and up to 16 hours on half power.

  • Attract attention with personalised banners

When you’re exhibiting alongside lots of other traders, you need to make sure your brand and offering is bright and clear, so passers-by in busy crowds can see at a glance exactly who you are and what you’re selling.

Our shop front banners give you just that – visual impact at the top of your instant shelter or gazebo to help you showcase your company and attract customers to your stand.

They’re available in three designs, come in various shapes and sizes, and are also budget-friendly, making them a cost-effective and simple way to put your mark on your market stall.

  • Bigger events mean bigger branding

Want to go even bigger and bolder?  Our Gazebo Sky Banners take you up another level.

These mega, fully-detachable frames support your very own customised banner, and will give you maximum exposure at any outdoor event or festival this winter.

The pre-built ranges come in either 3m or 6m, but bespoke sizes are available, too. We also use the latest in UV printing technology, which not only means that we can print whatever you need, but can guarantee deep, vibrant colours that will be resistant to fading.

Gazebo Sky Banners are the ultimate way to attract the attention of the crowd, so think carefully about your custom printing requirements – and we’ll make it happen.

  • Use a range of promotional gear

If you’re the organiser or host, you need to make sure you’re really showcasing your brand and the wider event, so go big on promotional gear.

We have masses of promotional products and accessories for you to choose from, which will ensure your customers know – and won’t forget – that amazing event they went to.

All promotional banners are fully bespoke and made to order, with motorsport banners and promotional flags being up there as some of our most popular products for large-scale outdoor festivals and events.

  • Don’t be afraid to over-communicate

In this challenging climate, event organisers need to put additional health and safety measures in place to make sure it’s Covid-secure. This is not only to comply with government guidance, but also to make sure your attendees feel comfortable that the event has been adapted for their safety.

Depending on the size of your event, you might be able to use a number of entrances and exits and use a one-way system to help minimise crowding – and signpost these accordingly, using our A1 poster board or printed promotional banners to show people where to go.

If your event has lots of suppliers, such as a food festival or market, it’s also a good idea to make sure your instant shelters and pop-up gazebos are as far apart as possible, so that people browsing and queuing up to buy aren’t too close together.

It’s also wise to have hand sanitising stations set up throughout your event for both staff and attendees to use.
